Software as a ServiceThe CargoRent software does not require complex installation. As a service-oriented telemetric platform, cargoRent employs the Internet. Transportation and fleet management can be administered just like an online bank account: quickly, clearly arranged and above all safe.
The entire data, such as the position of the vehicle, driving time and loading status, are collected in a ‘Black Box’ integrated into the vehicle. The truck’s position is tracked via satellite. The collected data is sent by a GSM/GPRS data link to the cargoRent platform and processed whenever required or in pre-defined intervals. The MRP controller and customers, integrated transporters can gain access to the data using a secure internet access and password. The data link enables communication between the control center and the vehicle, as well. Text messages, tours, the electronic bill of lading, the electronic signature of the ordering party, the carrier and the recipient and the driver’s electronic log are thus transmitted. In this way, cargoRent interlinks via its computer center all participants of the value-added chain.
